Having sought and pursued positions of leadership and influence throughout her senior medical career, as a woman in the NHS, she managed to succeed in a sometimes hostile, complex and biased environment.
Throughout her career navigating difficult personal and family pressures with personal sickness and life circumstances impacting her career progression and life choices.
Until April 2022 she held a national position as President of the HCSA, Union and Professional Association for Hospital Doctors, she was the first woman president since its inception in 1948. In this role she had direct influence and stakeholder position with NHS England & Improvement, NHS Employers, Parliamentary Peers and MP’s, the Treasury and the Department of Health, the DDRB renumeration review and was involved in the operational and service delivery around Covid-19.
She continues to sit on the HCSA Executive and continues to work on the Gender Pay Gap Review Recommendation Implementation Programme under Dame Jane Dacre at a national level.
Claudia has lobbied Government and the treasury around NHS pensions and taxation and its impact on NHS doctors. .
Dr Paoloni is a coach and mentor for NHS South West region and is accredited as a Civil and Commercial mediator.
She lectures on resilience and Changing challenge into Success.
